Connectivity in Estonia
Your Simzora eSIM connects to Estonia's leading mobile networks, Telia, Elisa and Tele2, giving you reliable 4G and LTE across the country. In Tallinn, Tartu and Pärnu you can expect strong, fast data, with 5G available in parts of the larger cities where the networks have switched it on. Coverage stays solid along the main roads and in populated areas, but it can thin out or slow down in remote rural stretches, deep forest and on the smaller islands.
This is a data-only travel eSIM, so it joins the local networks as an international roaming line rather than a local Estonian SIM. Because of that, you must switch on Data Roaming for the eSIM line in your phone settings, which is completely normal for a travel eSIM and adds no extra cost. Leaving Data Roaming off for that line is the most common reason a new eSIM will not connect.
If your phone shows No Service or will not pick up data when you first land, switch Aeroplane Mode on for about ten seconds and then off again, which nudges the handset to search for a partner network. Indoor coverage can dip inside the thick stone walls of Tallinn's Old Town, in cellars and older basements, so moving near a window usually restores a stronger signal.
Because your data is carried as international roaming, some traffic may exit through a gateway outside Estonia, so a few websites and apps might occasionally treat you as being in another country or default to a different language. This does not affect your ability to browse, map and message normally. On the western islands such as Saaremaa and Hiiumaa, and in quieter national park areas like Lahemaa, expect coverage to be patchier and speeds lower than in the cities.

On Wi-Fi: set the eSIM as your data line, then turn Data Roaming ON for the eSIM line only, normal for travel eSIMs, costs nothing extra. Your home SIM stays untouched.
Your plan starts per the policy on its card, at purchase, or first connection in your destination. One rule forever: never delete the eSIM; top up instead.
Estonia eSIM FAQs
Which networks will I get in Estonia?+−
Your eSIM connects to Estonia's main operators, Telia, Elisa and Tele2, and automatically selects the strongest available signal. You do not pick the network by hand, as the eSIM chooses the best partner for wherever you are. This gives broad 4G and LTE coverage across the country, with 5G in parts of the larger cities.
Do I get an Estonian phone number or SMS?+−
No, this is a data-only eSIM, so it does not come with an Estonian number and cannot send or receive normal SMS text messages. Keep your home SIM active in another phone if you need bank or login codes by text. Use WhatsApp, iMessage or similar apps for calls and messages over data.
How much data do I get and when does the plan start?+−
Your plan carries the data allowance shown on the product you buy, and for most plans the clock starts on your first network connection inside Estonia. That means you can safely install it on Wi-Fi before departure, and it only begins counting once you actually arrive and connect to a local network.
How is coverage on the islands and in the countryside?+−
City coverage in Tallinn, Tartu and Pärnu is strong and fast, but on islands like Saaremaa and Hiiumaa, and in remote forest or bog areas, the signal can be weaker and slower. You will still get usable data in most inhabited places, though speeds may drop and there can be occasional gaps well away from towns and main roads.
