Connectivity in Cyprus
In Cyprus your Simzora eSIM connects to the main local networks, Cyta, Epic and PrimeTel, and picks up whichever gives the strongest signal where you happen to be. You get steady 4G and LTE across the areas most travellers spend their time, including Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos and the resort strip around Ayia Napa, with 5G reachable in parts of the larger towns. Coverage naturally thins in the Troodos mountains, on the wilder Akamas peninsula and along quiet rural roads, where the connection can drop to slower 4G or 3G. In the built-up coastal areas the speeds hold up well for maps, streaming and video calls.
Your eSIM joins these networks as an international roaming line rather than as a local Cypriot SIM, so you need to switch on Data Roaming for the eSIM line in your settings. This is completely normal for a travel eSIM and adds no extra cost, as your plan already includes the data you bought. It is a data only line, which means there is no Cyprus phone number and no SMS, though WhatsApp, iMessage and other apps that run over data work exactly as usual. Keep your home SIM active in a separate phone so bank and login codes sent by text still reach you.
If your phone still shows No Service shortly after you land, turn Airplane Mode on for about ten seconds and then off again, which nudges the handset to search for a local network afresh. Indoor coverage can dip inside thick stone buildings, older village houses and some basement tavernas, so moving nearer a window usually brings the bars back. Give the eSIM a minute or two to register the first time before assuming anything is wrong.
Because this is a roaming connection, your data may leave through a gateway outside Cyprus, so the odd website or app might treat you as browsing from another country and show a different language or an extra verification step. There is also one caveat unique to the island. These networks serve the Republic of Cyprus in the south, so if you cross the Green Line into the north around Nicosia your phone can lose them and latch onto a separate Turkish Cypriot network that your plan does not cover. Staying in the government controlled south keeps you on the networks the plan is built for.

Installed in minutes, before you fly
Do it on home Wi-Fi the day you buy. Three small steps:
The one-tap Install button on your delivery screen does it without any scanning. Prefer the QR? Open your email on a second screen. Samsung? Paste the manual code, it always works.
On Wi-Fi: set the eSIM as your data line, then turn Data Roaming ON for the eSIM line only, normal for travel eSIMs, costs nothing extra. Your home SIM stays untouched.
Your plan starts per the policy on its card, at purchase, or first connection in your destination. One rule forever: never delete the eSIM; top up instead.
Cyprus eSIM FAQs
Which networks will I get in Cyprus?+−
Your eSIM uses the main Cypriot networks, Cyta, Epic and PrimeTel, and automatically selects whichever is strongest at your location. You do not pick one by hand, as the eSIM manages the choice for you as you move between Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos and Ayia Napa.
Do I get a Cyprus phone number or SMS?+−
No, this is a data only eSIM, so there is no Cyprus number and it cannot send or receive standard text messages. Keep your usual SIM active in another phone for bank and login codes, and use WhatsApp or iMessage over the data connection for your messaging and calls.
How much data do I get and when does the plan start?+−
You buy a set data allowance rather than an unlimited bundle, and the exact amount and validity are shown on the plan you choose. Most plans begin counting from your first connection to a network in Cyprus, so you can install on Wi-Fi beforehand without the clock starting early.
Will it work everywhere on the island, including the north?+−
These networks cover the Republic of Cyprus in the south, so Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos and Ayia Napa are all well served. If you cross the Green Line into the northern part of the island your phone may leave these networks and connect to a separate Turkish Cypriot operator that your plan does not include, so plan to stay in the south for reliable data. Coverage in the far Troodos mountains and the Akamas can also be slower, so download maps ahead of a day trip.
