Connectivity in Brazil
Your eSIM connects as an international roaming line on Vivo or Claro, the two largest mobile networks in Brazil. Expect fast 5G and LTE across Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Salvador and Curitiba, plus the busy coastal highways between them. Coverage softens once you head inland, thinning across the Amazon interior, the Pantanal wetlands and the dry sertao of the Nordeste, where signal can drop to basic mobile data or disappear between towns.
Distances in Brazil are deceptive. A long-haul bus from Rio toward Foz do Iguacu or a river trip out of Manaus will run through stretches with no coverage at all, since towers cluster around towns and the main roads rather than the forest and farmland in between. On the coast you will usually stay connected through beach towns like Buzios, Paraty and along the Costa Verde, but island spots such as Ilha Grande and Fernando de Noronha get patchy fast away from the main settlement.
The eSIM comes online at the airport, so you can connect at Guarulhos or Galeao and sort a taxi or ride-share before you clear customs. Because it is a roaming line, your data may route through a gateway outside Brazil, which means some local sites and banking or delivery apps can treat you as browsing from abroad and occasionally ask for extra verification.

Installed in minutes, before you fly
Do it on home Wi-Fi the day you buy. Three small steps:
The one-tap Install button on your delivery screen does it without any scanning. Prefer the QR? Open your email on a second screen. Samsung? Paste the manual code, it always works.
On Wi-Fi: set the eSIM as your data line, then turn Data Roaming ON for the eSIM line only, normal for travel eSIMs, costs nothing extra. Your home SIM stays untouched.
Your plan starts per the policy on its card, at purchase, or first connection in your destination. One rule forever: never delete the eSIM; top up instead.
Brazil eSIM FAQs
Which networks and coverage will I get in Brazil?+−
Your line roams on Vivo or Claro, chosen automatically. Both give strong 5G and LTE in the big cities and along the coast, while the Amazon interior, the Pantanal and rural Nordeste are weaker and can drop out between towns.
Can I make calls and get text codes on the eSIM?+−
No. This is a data-only plan with no phone number, so it cannot receive SMS one-time passcodes or calls. Keep your normal SIM in the phone for bank and OTP texts, and use WhatsApp or FaceTime over the data connection, which still run on your own number.
Can I top up if I run low on data?+−
Standard plans can be topped up with more data before they expire, so you can extend without buying again. Unlimited plans cannot be topped up. When one runs out you simply buy a fresh plan.
Will it work for a trip that mixes Rio, the Amazon and Iguazu Falls?+−
In Rio and other cities you will have fast, reliable data. Around Manaus and on Amazon river trips expect coverage only near towns, and at Foz do Iguacu the town and the falls viewpoints are well covered while the long road stretches in between are not.
