Africa eSIM
- Works on eSIM-capable phones
- Local partner networks, auto-connect
- Starts when you land
- Hotspot & easy top-ups
Your data roams on local partner networks in Africa, connecting automatically to the strongest available signal. If one network has no service, it can switch to another.
Coverage is solid 4G/LTE across the major cities and along the main routes between them. In remote and mountain areas, signal is more limited on every network.
More GB, lower per-GB price: the 5 GB plan works out at $9.90 per GB.

Choosing the Africa eSIM
This bundle is built for a trip that crosses African borders rather than one long stay in a single country. A single eSIM covers 29 destinations, reaching from Morocco, Egypt and Tunisia in the north to South Africa, Botswana and Eswatini in the south, plus East and West African stops and Indian Ocean islands such as Seychelles, Madagascar and Reunion.
Africa is the region where a roaming line most clearly beats buying locally. A prepaid SIM in Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt or South Africa usually means a registration desk, a passport and a photocopy, sometimes a biometric capture, and a wait before the line activates, repeated in every country you land in. This eSIM skips all of it: you land, the phone registers on a partner network, and the same balance and the same expiry date carry on from the last country. On a route touching three or four of these countries that is several hours and several registration queues you never join.
Three sizes are offered. 1 GB over 7 days suits a short work trip built around maps, ride-hailing and messaging. 3 GB over 30 days is the sensible default for a multi-week route across several of these countries. 5 GB over 30 days is the largest here, so if you expect video calls or photo uploads, plan to add data mid-trip rather than hoping it stretches.
Be honest about the list before you buy. Africa is enormous and this covers 29 of its destinations, not the whole continent: Ethiopia, Rwanda, Namibia, Mozambique and Algeria are not included, so check every stop on your route. Per gigabyte it also costs more than the single-country plans on this site, so a trip that stays inside one country is usually better served by that country's own page.
- Confirm your phone is eSIM capable and carrier unlocked, then install over Wi-Fi before you fly.
- The plan starts counting from your first connection inside a covered country, not from the moment you buy.
- Keep your home SIM in the phone for bank codes; this eSIM is data-only, with no number.
- Download offline maps for game parks, desert routes and long road transfers, where signal thins on every network.
- Check each stop on your itinerary against the coverage list; neighbouring countries are not automatically included.
